Title

Akron Fever: Interning at the Archives for the History of American Psychology

Abstract

A report on two months spent at the Archives for the History of American Psychology in Akron, Ohio as an Archives Intern. The talk is based on questions received from students in the History & Theory of Psychology program at York University. I will begin with an introduction to the Archives, explain how I obtained an internship (and some of the difficulties associated with conducting an internship as a Canadian in the United States), and will then turn to what I did and learned as an intern. Focus will be laid particularly on the question of “what did you do?” using specific examples I was presented with while learning to process archival materials.
